The weather department has issued a red alert for the possibility of severe heat wave with heat wave on Tuesday at some places in the districts including capital Patna, Buxar, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, Kaimur, Rohtas, Arwal, Jehanabad, Gaya. An orange alert has been issued for heat wave in Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Sheikhpura, Begusarai, Samastipur, Nawada and Nalanda. Hot day is likely at one or two places in the districts of north west, north central, south east parts of the state. During the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 46.9 degree celsius was recorded in Aurangabad of the state.
Chances of rain in Supaul, Araria, Purnia
The Meteorological Center believes that light to moderate rain with thundershowers is expected in some parts of Supaul, Araria, Purnia, Kishanganj in the next three to four hours. Strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are expected in these districts. The districts of the state where temperature was recorded above 40 degree Celsius are Patna 41.5, Gaya 45.4, Chapra 43.3, Dehri 46.4, Sheikhpura 42.4, Gopalganj 42.1, Jamui 41.2, Buxar 46.6, Bhojpur 46.2, Vaishali 44.3, Aurangabad 46.2, Banka 43.3, Nawada 44.0, Rajgir 44.3, Jiradei 43.6, Arwal 46.4, Bikramganj 45.4, Munger 41.4, apart from this, Bhagalpur 39.2, Purnia 32.2, Valmiki Nagar 37.2, Muzaffarpur 36.2, Darbhanga 37.2, Supaul 33.2, Forbesganj 32.2, Madhubani 36.7 and Motihari Temperatures were recorded at 37.0, Samastipur 37.1, Begusarai 37.0, Katihar 33.6, Araria 30.5, Pusa 36.8 and Kishanganj 31.0 degrees Celsius.
Rainfall occurred at one or two places in the last 24 hours
During the last 24 hours, light rain was recorded at one or two places in the north-east part of the state. The rest of the area remained dry. The maximum temperature remained above 40 degrees at 17 places in the state. Severe heat wave conditions persisted at many places in the state. While heat wave was recorded in Patna, Jamui and Munger. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain with thundershowers is forecast at one or two places in the north-east and south-east of the state. There is no forecast of any significant change in temperature during the next two to three days. Thereafter, the maximum temperature is likely to fall by three to five degrees Celsius. The effect of monsoon will be visible in some parts of Bihar after three to four days.
